We didn't hit our original £50K target, and the deadline has passed. Looking back, that number felt out of reach to a lot of you, and I get it. So we've reset. We're breaking it down into clear £5K milestones, so you can see exactly where your money goes and how every contribution moves us forward. We're not starting from zero either: we raised almost £5K and it's already working, and here's the full picture of what still needs to happen.
Where we are right now
We're in the most critical window of VPL's growth. We have a solid food service pipeline with a national partner targeting Q4, we're moving into a new production facility, and an investment round is in progress. The money is coming, but right now we're running a scaled-up operation without the scaled-up infrastructure to match.
That gap is real. And it's exactly what this fundraiser is bridging. Every milestone below is a specific, tangible step that takes us closer to a self-sustaining operation. Nothing vague, nothing abstract.
The Milestones

Milestone 1 · £5,000 goal
Oven secured + first large order covered
Done. Thanks to the first wave of Day Ones, we got the oven in and covered our first large wholesale order out of the new kitchen.
Milestone 2 · £5,000 goal
Dough mixer + smaller equipment (URGENT)
Needed now. The dough mixer and the other smaller pieces of equipment we need to scale physical production - without these we can't run the new line at volume.

Bratt pan + partition walls
The bratt pan plus the partition walls to properly separate the production space - turning the unit into a real scaled kitchen.

Working capital buffer (June - October)
Working capital to cover overheads from June through October while we scale up - the investment round and food service contracts are coming, this bridges us to when that cash actually lands in Q4. The money is on its way; we're running a scaled-up operation without the scaled-up infrastructure yet.

The Vegan Patty Lady is leaving Karma Kitchen - the place that has been our home for almost two years. It's where The Vegan Patty Lady was born, where thousands of patties were made by hand, and where a community fell in love with Jamaican vegan food. We'll miss them dearly, but we've truly outgrown the space and it's time to move.
But some endings are just God making room for something bigger.
In May 2026, we move into our very own production unit. The investors are in. The money is largely secured. This is already happening.
